Dave is the Founder of Symph, a design and development studio in Cebu.
He has been in the Philippines since 2003 when he and his wife founded Glory Reborn, a non-profit organization that provides free maternity care which to date has delivered over 2,500 healthy babies.
He has been a geek his whole life and spent his career working in the technology sector. Prior to starting Symph, he was the CIO at Bigfoot - a media and entertainment company.
He is passionate about technology, entrepreneurship and empowering Filipinos.
Pao Peña is one of the youngest digital media practitioners in Asia to assume an executive role, with extensive experience in strategic and creative digital marketing, social media marketing and operations, CRM and integrated marketing communications tucked under his belt. Through his leadership and implementation of digital marketing programs that encourage people to interact with brands that matter to them, Pao spearheaded the turnaround in Leo Burnett/Arc’s business with double-digit growth in revenues through an aggressive play on new biz, product and platforms creation, integration expertise.
Prior to his appointment at Leo Burnett in February 2011, he was Head of Digital Marketing at Globe Telecom, pioneering the company’s foray into new media and implementing long-term strategies employing a full breadth of web 2.0 marketing disciplines including social media management, search engine marketing, creative media, strategic partnerships, affiliate marketing, portal marketing, digital CRM, content creation and management, usability and design. Pao also had a two-year overseas stint, heading Marketing for Vinagame, the leading online game operator and provider of Zing.vn, the web portfolio in Vietnam. Under his leadership, Zing.vn became the fastest growing startup web property in Vietnam, a record yet to be beaten by other players in the industry and region.
Pao holds a degree in Humanities with a professional certificate in Integrated Marketing Communications from the University of Asia & the Pacific. He was also in the Board of Directors of the Internet and Mobile Marketing Association of the Philippines from 2010-2012 serving as its Vice-President in 2012.
Eric Ramirez is an entrepreneur and investor. He is a cofounder of Outcomm, Inc., a leading outdoor advertising company in the Philippines, Molave Investments Ltd, an Asia focused multi-strategy fund, and Eximius BPO Services, Inc., a real estate services company. He is also a Director of Nuffnang Philippines, a blog community with over 25,000 blogs in the Philippines, and Insync Inc, a google cloud syncing startup. He was previously the Philippine and Thailand country head for Walden International, a US venture capital firm. He was a director of Sun Microsystems Philippines, Pacific Microwave, Philippine Seven Corporation, and was also formerly the head of the Stanford Alumni Association of the Philippines. He is an avid fan of the internet and blogs. He is an amateur cook and an occasional magazine writer.
18 years in Advertising, Media and Digital related Businesses. Working for Warner France as Marketing Director, then General Manager of La Bande Son, a division of Canal+. In 2000, he cofounded one of the first european digital agency, Rouge, and managed the online strategy of several international brands like MSN, Orange, XBox/XBox 360, Samsung or Amazon.fr… In 2007, he moved to the Philippines and co-founded NetBooster Asia, the leading Digital Agency in the Philippines, sold in 2013 to WPP Group. Since 2010, Frederic is now the founder and CEO of CashCashPinoy, one of the most successful start-up in Philippines and a key actor in Filipino e-commerce. Frederic is also founder and Vice-President of the Digital Commerce Filipino Association. He holds a Master in Law degree from the Paris I University.
Ron Hose is an entrepreneur and angel investor focusing on emerging markets. Ron was Founding Partner at Innovation Endeavors, an early stage venture capital fund backed by Eric Schmidt. Prior to IE, Ron was the Co-Founder and CTO of TokBox [Acquired by Telefonica] a consumer video conferencing company serving millions of video minutes daily to customers connecting from around the globe. TokBox was backed by Sequoia Capital, Bain Capital, Stanford University and some of Silicon Valleys best known angel investors. Ron Holds a Bachelors and Masters degree from Cornell University, where he graduated at the top of his class. While at Cornell, Ron was one of the founding members of the autonomous flight team, which received funding from Microsoft and Cornell. Ron is an active investor and adviser to several Silicon Valley start-ups.
